Hannah Faith Greene’s senior year at Girls’ Preparatory School has barely begun and instead of being on campus, she is enjoying a trip to Paradise.
Paradise as in the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas where the daughter of Dr. Christopher and Marianne Greene is representing Tennessee at this week’s Miss Teen USA Pageant where is she hoping to become the third Volunteer State entrant to win the title in the program’s 33 year history. Stormi Henley, the daughter of Chattanooga’s Kip Henley, was the 2009 winner and in 1997 Shelly Moore Bartholomew became the first Tennessean to capture the national crown.
Saturday’s finals will be web streamed on the pageant website www.MissTeenUSA.com starting at 8 p.m.
ET where the field will be narrowed from 51 to the top 12 contestants vying for the title. The contestants compete in swimsuit, evening wear and on-stage question and the winner will be crowned by outgoing titleholder K. Lee Graham of South Carolina.
Hannah Faith, who was chosen Miss Tennessee Teen USA last October, has been an active community volunteer, having served over 300 hours for 20 non-profit organizations. Most of her time has been spent at the Chattanooga Ronald McDonald House where she cooks and visits with the patients and their families. Measuring at six feet, she is one of the tallest contestants in the pageant.
The aspiring OB-GYN who just celebrated her 17th birthday, has studied piano for 12 years. Hannah Faith remains undecided about her college choice, but she excels in the honors classes at GPS where she is also a member of the school’s cross-country team.
