Former Collegedale Mayor And Commissioner Was Business Owner

William J. "Bill" Hulsey, 90, of Collegedale, died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, February 23, 2016.

He was the husband of Myrtle Hulsey for 69 years and loving dad of three children.

Collegedale Casework, Inc., formerly Collegedale Cabinets, Inc., was owned by him.

Enjoyment for him was real property residential and commercial development, in Collegedale, Ooltewah & Chattanooga. He contributed in serving as Adventist Church Building Chairman at - Collegedale, Ooltewah, McDonald Road and Collegedale Spanish S.D.A. Churches.  He was also blessed to be a long standing board member at Southern Adventist University, his alma mater, and founding board member of its “Building”- Committee of 100.

He also was a founding board member of worldwide 3ABN-3 Angels Broadcast TV Network.

Locally, he graciously served as founding chairman of The Samaritan Center in Ooltewah, and as a Collegedale City mayor and commissioner.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harry W. Hulsey, Sr. and Nevie Stratton Hulsey; sisters, Vivian Waldron and Sally Snedgen.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtle; daughters, Donna (John) Harold & Barbara Rodgers; son, Steve (Cynthia) Hulsey; brother, Harry (Berneice) Hulsey, Jr.; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and cherished nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service was held on Friday, Feb. 26. A memorial service will be held at Collegedale Seventh Day Adventist Church on Sunday, March 6, at 2 p.m. with Dr. Gordon Bietz-Southern Adventist University president, officiating.
