Carol Meacham
Carol Meacham, 72, a resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Dalton, Georgia, died on March 25, 2016 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga.
She was born Jan. 10, 1944, in Chattanooga to the late Frank Todd and Una Corley Meacham.
Carol was a graduate of Chattanooga High School class of 1962. She received a BS degree from the University of Chattanooga in 1966 and a master’s degree in education from Tusculum University.
She taught in Tennessee and Georgia schools for a total of 44 years. After her retirement from education in 2010, Carol stayed busy at Weaver’s Rocky Face Pharmacy where she was part owner.
She was preceded in death by brother and sister-in-law, Niles and Shirley Meacham.
Survivors include her sisters, Charlotte Mullis-Morgan (Byerly) of Chattanooga, Gladys (Dee Dee) Meadows (Dr. David Lee) of Chattanooga, her partner, Gwendolyn Denise Weaver of Dalton, her nieces, Margaret Compton (Jeff) and Cathy Atkinson, and her nephews, Cole Mullis (Cindy) and Todd Meacham, her great nieces, Corley, Gracie and Catherine Compton, Courtney Mullis, and great nephews, Ethan and Jacob Albright.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 29, from 3-6 p.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home East Brainerd Chapel.
A private graveside services will be held at a later date for family and close friends at Forest Hill Cemetery.
