UTC Rededicating James R. Mapp Building

  • Wednesday, April 20, 2016

UTC will be rededicating The James R. Mapp Building on Thursday at 4:30-6:30 pm (program at 5:30).

This building is the first of the former Tennessee State Office building complex that is now being used by UTC. The Departments of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy have moved into the building.

James Mapp was a well-known civil rights leader in Chattanooga. The building was originally dedicated in his honor and UTC is retaining his name on the facility.

Mayor Andy Berke, former State Rep. Tommie Brown, members of the Mapp family and others will join Chancellor Steve Angle in recognizing and celebrating James Mapp’s contributions and achievements.
