Review for Charlie the Head:

Charlie the Head is a Chattanooga based progressive jazz group that delivers a fusion of old standards, original music and modern funk.

Todd Garland, drummer and the brains behind CTH, studied music at the University of South Carolina. After graduation, Todd traveled and performed before finally moving to Chattanooga to form his own group Resident guitar wizard and Chattanooga native Stephen Powers graduated from the University of New Orleans with a degree in jazz studies.

Upon returning to his home town, he has been staying busy both as a private music instructor and as a performing artist. Completing the low end of the sound spectrum is bassist Ryan Crabtree. Also originally from Chattanooga,

Ryan earned his Bachelor of Music Education from UTC and stays busy with a multitude of projects. Utilizing mixed meters, unique rhythms, and an extended chord vocabulary CTH aims to push the musical envelope to provide a sonic experience like no other.
