Retired From Chattem After 25 Years

Betty Jo Allen, 86, of Lookout Valley, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 10, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Allen was a graduate of Dade County High School where she was crowned “Miss Dade High” in 1948.  She was retired from Chattem with 25 years of service and was a member of Lookout Valley Baptist Church.  She loved to travel, take cruises, and spend time with her family. 

Her husband, Roy H. Allen, four sisters, two brothers, and nephew, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Mike Sartin of Lookout Valley; son, Ricky H. Allen of Hixson; grandchildren, Shea (Shannon) Sartin, Lauren (Mack) Ridge, Misty (Joey) Smith, and Courtney (Clay) Ensminger; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Herb Thomas officiating.  Interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens West, Lookout Valley.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, Feb. 12, from 4–7 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
