James Ware
James Edward Ware, 74, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017, in the Hospice Care Center.
He was a 1962 graduate of Hill High School in Lafayette, Ga. He was a United States Army veteran and retired from the city of Chattanooga. He was a former employee of the Volunteer Ammunition Plant and TVA at Watts Bar. He was a member of Mt. Peria Baptist Church in Ringgold.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Deumphry Ware; sisters, Katherine Loveless, Jessie Mae Jackson, and Betty Middlebrooks; brothers, Henry Louis Ware and Thomas Ware.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Letha Ware; daughters, Shannon Ware, Treva (Kariss) Jones, and Shan-ta (Quiante) Price; son, Otis (Latoya) Rumph, all of Chattanooga; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Mildred Griffin, Nella Bell, both of Lafayette, GA, and Linda Lacks of New York, NY; sisters-in-law, Sally Ware of Lafayette, Joyce (John) McKibbens of Chattanooga, and Jean (James) Smith of Lithonia, GA; brothers-in-law, John (Mildred) Parks of Jackson, GA, Charlie (Gwen) Parks of Jenkinsburg, GA, Oscar (Phyllis) Parks, and Hugh Parks, both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
He will lie in state on Friday, Feb. 10, at 9:30 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 10 a.m. in the chapel with Brother Jimmie Ingram as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
