Katherine McClure Burgess, 89, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on April 5, 2017.

She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a retired office manager from Nabisco after 45 years of service.

Mrs. Burgess was a gifted singer having traveled with The Melody Makers Quartet for over 20 years.

She was a longtime member of Woodland Park Baptist Church.

Mrs. Burgess was the daughter of the late J.J. and Effie McClure and was preceded in death by her husband, J. Worth Burgess;  her son,  Roger Burgess;  her twin brother, Kenneth McClure, brother, Edgar McClure, and her sisters, Margaret Pearce and Stella Mae Morgan.

She is survived by her sister, Eleanor Draper,  Chattanooga;  nieces and nephews, Jerry (Joy) Pearce, New Johnsonville, TN, Peggy Powell,  Atlanta,  Jim (Ellen) McClure, Ringgold, Maridon (Jim) Mills, Port Richey, FL,  Karen (Joe) Thornhill, Cape Coral, FL, and Larry (Sandy) Draper, Rome, GA  and many great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Larry Draper officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
