Chapter members meet with officials and family members at the Nancy Ward grave site

Chapter members attend TSDAR State Conference in Franklin, Tn.
The ladies of the Nancy Ward Chapter have wrapped up a busy spring. They inducted five new members, including second generation chapter member and former T. S. C. A. R. state president, Ashleigh Cook.
Several members attended the TSDAR State Conference in Franklin, Tn., where the chapter received 29 awards including the Cherokee District award for Outstanding Chapter Newsletter.
Members also visited the Nancy Ward Gravesite near Benton, Tn., to meet with park officials and descendants of Nancy Ward. The chapter, along with others in the area, is involved with preserving this site for future generations. A large group met to discuss recent changes to the site as well as upcoming improvements.
Other spring events included assisting with the Native American Pow Wow and the Vietnam Veteran Welcome Home events, as well as maintenance and a Flag Raising at Brainerd Mission Cemetery.
