James Pelfrey
James “Jim” Pelfrey, Jr., 82, of Hixson, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018.
He was a member of Middle Valley Baptist Church. He was retired from Synthetic Industries. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and Papaw. His other loves included fishing, Tennessee Football, the Lady Vols, and the Atlanta Braves.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James “Rab” and Marie Pelfrey, sister Barbara Isham, brothers Billy, Kenneth, and Jerry Pelfrey, and grandson Alex Pelfrey.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Patsy Pelfrey, sons Robert (Janet) Pelfrey and Terry (Lydia) Pelfrey, grandchildren Kayla (Kyle) Johnson, Payton Pelfrey, Mitchell Pelfrey, and Paxton Pelfrey, siblings Sue (Paul) Brock, Ricky (Sandy) Pelfrey, and David (Penny) Pelfrey, and several special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Monday, Jan. 22, at Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center from 4-8 p.m., and Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 12-2 p.m. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mickey Rector and Paxton Pelfrey officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
