Delmar Anderson
Delmar Grady Anderson, 96, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at his home.
He was born in Hendersonville, N.C., and was the son of the late Rufus Grady Anderson and Carrie Gertrude Hyder Anderson. He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Lee Anderson; brother, Hubert Anderson; mother of his children, Gloria Bollman Anderson; and second wife Virginia Draper Anderson.
Delmar attended Southern Junior College (now Southern University) in Collegedale, Tn., and graduated from Columbia Union College (now Washington Adventist University) in Takoma Park, Maryland. He was a longtime pastor with the Seventh-day Adventist Church having served over 40 years. He was instrumental in building and pastoring several churches throughout the South. Prior to his retirement, he built and pastored Arden Seventh-day Adventist Church in Arden, N.C.
He is survived by his wife, Della Wilson Anderson, of Ooltewah, three sons, Delmar Dean Anderson (Marina), of Hendersonville, N.C., Myron Grady Anderson (Carolyn), of Orlando, Fl., Mark Eugene Anderson (Neda), of Allen, Tx., seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, at Collegedale Memorial Park with Pastor Brian Burgess and Pastor Don Gettys officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5–8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1, at the funeral home.
