Chattanooga Fire Department crews were called at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Friday, to the Ace Hardware on Lee Highway in Brainerd.

According to Battalion Chief Nate Middlebrooks, personnel at the Ace Hardware had been refilling propane tanks and discovered a propane leak. They immediately shut down operations and notified the fire department.

Crews from the Chattanooga Fire Department were able to monitor the air quality for propane. They confirmed that the system was shut down and was no longer leaking.

The system was secured and Ace Hardware personnel will have the system checked out by their suppliers.

No evacuations were necessary other than an early closing of the Ace Hardware.
