CHI Memorial Medical Group announces Mark Currin, M.D. has joined CHI Memorial Chattanooga Urology Associates. Dr. Currin received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in urology at Medical University of South Carolina. His career interests are in the medical and surgical management of stone disease, endourology, urological oncology, minimally invasive and robotic urology and female incontinence and voiding symptoms. His robotic experience is primarily in kidney, ureteral and prostate surgery.
Dr. Currin is returning to his hometown, and joining the same practice where his father, Samuel Currin, M.D., practiced for 26 years. Dr. Mark Currin was a whitewater kayak instructor while in college and served as a medical student volunteer in Uganda during medical school. He enjoys outdoor recreation activities, woodworking and printmaking.
Dr. Currin joins Patrick Dilworth, M.D., Edward Henson, M.D., Jeffrey Mullins, M.D. and William Young, M.D. at CHI Memorial Chattanooga Urology Associates. The physicians specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of all areas related to the urinary tract and the reproductive area. This includes all age groups with disease or infection involving the reproductive tracts, kidneys, urethra, bladder, prostate and the male genitalia. The urologists also treat kidney stones, infertility, impotence, cancer of the urinary tract and prostate cancer.
"CHI Memorial Chattanooga Urology Associates is fully equipped with the diagnostic tools to detect urological disease in its early stages. It is our goal to use these tools and our training in a preventative manner and to restore normal function and health to our patients," officials said.
