  • Saturday, May 17, 2025

The Baylor boys soccer team traveled to Ensworth hoping to earn a trip to the TSSAA Division II State final four.  The was tied 1-1 at the half but Ensworth was able to score two in the second half to earn the 3-1 win.

Philippe LaForge scored off a Marshall Bible throw-in for Baylor in the 12th minute taking an early 1-0 lead.

Ensworth tied the game in the 37th minute.

It was 1-1 at halftime.

Ensworth scored on a penalty kick in the 43rd minute and on a shot inside the box in the 57th minute.

"It was not the ending that we expected but in this game of soccer it can be exciting and cruel all at the same time," said Baylor head soccer coach Curtis Blair.

"Even when we were down, I thought we created some great chances to tie it up. To win a state title is very difficult and you need the ball to bounce your way sometimes and it didn't go that way for us today. The one item that I will take away from this game is our guys never stopped competing and creating chances. We left everything out there until the final whistle. We will miss our seniors: Jackson Bergamann, Marshall Bible, Miles Busch, Philippe LaForge, Carter Weekley."
