Almeida Accepts Leadership Positions With CMA and Toastmasters

Dr. Luis Camillo Almeida, associate professor of communication at Lee University, has accepted leadership positions within two local organizations. 

Dr. Almeida will serve as the president elect of Cleveland Media Association for 2019. He will then serve as the president of CMA in 2020, and then past president of CMA in 2021. 

The objective of the CMA is to unite communication professionals in all mediums within the Cleveland region in an effort to provide a creative, educational, and friendly environment for professional growth, networking, and community interaction.

Dr. Almeida was also elected vice president of public relations for the Forge to Finish Toastmasters International Club. He will be coordinating all social media communication for the club and promoting the club within the region.

Toastmasters International is a non-profit education organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. The mission of Toastmasters International is to make effective verbal communication and leadership a worldwide reality.

“Serving the Cleveland Media Association and Toastmasters International Forge to Finish Club is an honor,” said Dr. Almeida. “I'm looking forward to working closely with wonderful people and helping these organizations to move forward.”

Dr. Almeida joined Lee’s faculty in 2017. He received his Doctorate of Philosophy from the Pennsylvania State University, his Master of Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and his Bachelor of Science from Slippery Rock University.
