Linda Daughetee passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at her residence in Harrison, Tennessee. She is now at home with her beloved son, Shane.

Linda was born in Rutherfordton, N.C., on Jan. 14, 1951, to the late Robert and Mary Smart. She graduated from Rutherfordton High School and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Linda was a member of Hickory Valley Christian Church. She was also a member of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, Tennessee Federation of Fire Chaplains, and was a volunteer at Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department.

Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, James R. Daughetee; sisters, Pat Higgins and Barbara Britton; Niece, Nicki Higgins; and nephews, Josh Higgins, Brian Dotson, and Brett Dotson. She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her son, Shane Daughetee and sister, Libby Smart.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 4-8 p.m. at The North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home in Hixson.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 6, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain Paul Trumpore officiating. Interment will follow at New McDonald Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either Hospice of Chattanooga, National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, or the Tennessee Fallen Firefighters Memorial.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
