Yellow Dragon Productions Presents Steve Martin’s The Underpants Feb. 1-10

  • Thursday, January 24, 2019

Yellow Dragon Productions will presents Steve Martin’s The Underpants, Feb. 1-10 at St. Luke United Methodist Church’s Marshall Hall.

Starring Dennis Parker as Theo Maske and Amanda West as his wife Louise, this German farce was adapted by Steve Martin from a play written by Carl Sternheim.

Review for The Underpants:

Theobald Maske has an unusual problem: his wife's underpants won't stay on. One Sunday morning they fall to her ankles right in the middle of town--a public scandal! Mortified, Theo swears to keep her at home until she can find some less unruly undies. Amid this chaos he's trying to rent a room in their flat. The prospective lodgers have some underlying surprises of their own.

In The Underpants, Steve Martin brings his comic genius and sophisticated literary style to Carl Sternheim's classic 1910 farce, Die Hose. This bawdy comedy with adult themes and language is rated PG-13.

The Underpants is directed by Joel D. Scribner, Yellow Dragon Productions’ founder and artistic director. Rounding out the cast are Samantha Teter, Garrett Henson-Hinck, Rider Barnum, and Donald Strickland.

Performances run Feb. 1, 2, 8, and 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 3 and 10 at 2:30 p.m. All performances are in Marshall Hall at St. Luke United Methodist Church, at 3210 Social Cir. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for students and are available at yellowdragonproductions.org or at the door. Furloughed government workers will be allowed two tickets at the door for free with a government ID.
