James Otis
James M. Otis, Jr. “Big O”, 44, passed away at his home on November 13, 2019, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. 
 
He was born in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany on October 13, 1975. James attended J. O. Johnson High School and received his high school equivalency. He moved to Chattanooga in 1998.  James worked for Hamilton County Corrections and last worked for T& T Produce until his health failed.  James loved to cook and grill and enjoy life. 
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Otis. 
 
He is survived by his son, Thomas James Otis of Huntsville Alabama; sister, Barbara Robinson (Douglas) of Hinesville, Ga.; niece, Anneshia Otis (Jeremiah); nephews, Demitric Otis (Tiyah), and Demarcus Otis (Breyonna); great-nephews, Kayden, Kamryn, Kaylen, and Austin; favorite uncle, Frank Otis (Jamie), his companion, Vaneshia Boyd, special friends, Vincent Thomas and Jarvis Porter; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
 
Public viewing will begin at noon until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, at the funeral home.
 
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, in the chapel. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
