Lamar Bagley, age 73, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, departed this life November 5, 2019 at the Life Care Center of Collegedale surrounded by his loving family.

Lamar was born in Dalton, Ga., Aug. 14, 1946 son of the late, Luther Odell and Pauldin Parker Bagley.  He was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Glenn Pair and David Holt. 

Lamar was a 1964 graduate of Valley Point High School and after high school proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Bagley graduated from Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Ga., as a nuclear technician.  Lamar worked at Erlanger Medical Center, Veterans Administration Hospital in Roanoke, Va., and at Memorial Hospital. As a second career he was a licensed cosmetologist.  Lamar was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in East Brainard and a member of the Vietnam Veterans #203.

Lamar is survived by his loving wife, Dorine Holt Bagley; sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher Lamar “Chris” and Tracey Bagley, Gregory Alan “Greg” and Casey Bagley; grandchildren, Joe Bagley and Sam Bagley, Erin Bagley and Daniel Bagley sister, Judy Bagley Pair of Dalton, Ga; and several cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Lamar Bagley will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. from the Celebration Mausoleum at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens 710 West Cuyler St., Dalton, GA, with Reverend Fred Dearing officiating.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Brainard Chapel, 4203 Brainard Road, Chattanooga, Tennessee, 37411, from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Lamar.

The family would like to give special recognition to the skilled nursing staff at Life Care of Collegedale for their care of Lamar.
