Woman Injured After SUV Strikes Store On Hamilton Place Boulevard

  • Monday, December 16, 2019

A woman was taken to the hospital after diving out of the way of an SUV that jumped the curb at a Chattanooga shopping center.

CFD was called to the Five Below on Hamilton Place Boulevard at 2:15 p.m. on Monday.

The driver of a white SUV said she wasn’t sure what happened, but her vehicle went up onto the curb and struck the front of the store.

A shopper walking by saw what was happening and dove out of the way, suffering minor injuries to her knee and her hand.

She was transported to the hospital.

There does not appear to be any structural damage to the store, according to responding fire officials. A Chattanooga building inspector was called out to the scene.

The white SUV was left with front end damage and there was some cosmetic damage to the front of Five Below.

Crews also cleaned up a slight fluid leak on the sidewalk.
