Chattanooga Times Free Press Litter - And Response

  • Friday, December 27, 2019

I live in East Lake and my daughter lives on Osburn Road in Chickamauga. I get Community News and the daughter gets North Georgia Community News. They (someone) throws these papers in our driveways.

I have taken the papers back to The Chattanooga Times Free Press on different occasions. I have called the subscription department and asked that they quit throwing them at these addresses. But still they arrive weekly.

Today we went to the Chattanooga Police Department and the Walker County Sheriff's Office to file a complaint. Neither would let me file a complaint.

Me, I call it littering. Someone must realize that old people get tired of picking up this trash and sending it to the landfill, which is already overflowing.

Do I go to a lawyer to file a complaint? What is to become of me should I slip and fall and break a hip while trying to pick up this trash? Does anyone have an idea for us?

Julia, I'll take your Times Free Press one day a week Wednesday paper any day in exchange for the daily doggy poop someone began to recently leave in my yard and 'odd' places dogs don't normally do their business. But I'm not sweating the small stuff of doggy poop in and around the yard. Just why it's only begun recently, more frequently than normal, and the 'odd' places the poop started to show up. Like on top of cross tires used as a border between the yard and driveway.

I've had animals, even wild ones in the yard. Have helped to care for dogs, cats, snakes, an albino rat, and a host of other creatures. Everything from a wolf-hybrid, malamute, Rottweiler/German Shepard mix, two Great Danes, a cat etc. They don't normally leave their poop on cross-tires and other objects sitting high off the ground unless instructed to do so by their owner(s).

That paper makes a good cover on gardens to help minimize weeds.
