The Strong Women Art Exhibit Opens Sunday

The North River Civic Center will present "The Strong Women" Art Exhibit, with a grand opening reception, Sunday from 1-3 p.m.

This will be a celebration of original art depicting women who inspired, whether it be a family member, community leader, teacher, friend, artist and more.  Over 40 selected paintings are on display at the civic center through June. 

Judi Ann Hostetter, juror, will announce the winning art works. Ms. Hostetter is a professional among Tennessee artists, whose career began in earnest in 1985.  A gifted painter, comfortable with various mediums, she has had several solo shows and has exhibited in numerous national and international juried exhibitions.  These include Tennessee Watercolor Society, Georgia Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of Alabama, Tennessee Allstate Exhibition, Central South Art Exhibition, Atlanta Playhouse and Theater Dogwood Festival (International Exhibit) winning a gold medal, National league of American Pen Women, Watercolor Society of Houston (International Exhibit), Civic Arts League, AARP Modern Natruity Bi-Annual, Old Lyme Art Association, Lyme, CT., and AVA, to name a few.

Experience the Interactive poetry performance by Rhyme and Chatt consisting of local poets  Marsha Mills, Tongeia Farmer, Michelle Simon and Carla Elliott, at the grand opening reception.
