Brent Pickett, a.k.a. “Big Bench” or “Big Brent”, died suddenly on April 30, 2019.

He was a graduate of Soddy Daisy High class of 1991, and attended Chattanooga State.

Brent’s younger years were spent roping and raising his horses.  He would balance that with playing slow pitch softball for his father and with his only brother Jim Pickett.

It was during his time he met his future wife Ursula Goodner Pickett of Hixson to whom he was married to for 23 years.  Brent’s interests then moved into power lifting where he made his mark by setting impressive records and winning 2013 Arnold Classic XPC Powerlifting with a 661 lbs. bench press.

From there his love moved into bodybuilding and becoming a certified personal trainer through NPC (National Federation of Professional Trainers).  He most recently opened, along with partners, the Agoge House of Iron Gym. While he worked a full-time job, his true love and passion was training clients.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bessie Brown, Joe Brown, James Pickett, Sr., and Treva Hays.

Brent is survived by his wife, Ursula Pickett, parents, Jimmy and Joyce Pickett, brother, Jim Pickett (Melinda) and special cousin, Leah Russell and a long list of numerous aunts, uncle and cousins.

Although they never had children, Brent had two special god sons Noah and Caden Teesateskie, nephew, Ellic Goins who always referred to him as doing “his strong man stuff” and one niece, Meagan Anderson.

Death is more universal than life, everyone dies, but not everyone lives.  Brent always believed in working hard for what you wanted and to never give up on your dreams.  He will always be our Superman.
