Debate Or Hoax Fest?

Friday, September 13, 2019

The third Democrat presidential debate was last night and here’s their strategy-beat Donald Trump, gun confiscation, beat Donald Trump, open the borders, beat Donald Trump, boundless free stuff and did I say beat Donald Trump?

Bolshevik Bernie, harping the classic Marxist line, said Medicare for all would make employers treat “workers” better. Here’s the hoax folks-with all the free stuff and guaranteed income, who will be working? And taking it a step further, who will pay for all the free stuff with nobody working? It won’t be the billionaires that support these leftists. That’s because they are in on the hoax. They know it’s the middle class that will bear the burden of any trillion dollar giveaway, their vast wealth is sheltered. Who doesn’t get that? The answer is the people they count on for votes.

Also a desperate Bay-toe from El Paso stated very clearly we will take away your AR-15s (NPR). From the Medicare for Illegal fiasco they suffered in an earlier debate, ABC hosts knew not to see a show of hands. But from their earlier statements, it’s obvious the rest are for him confiscation.

Another desperate guy is going to randomly pick 10 people to give away his so-called freedom dividend of $12,000. This reminds me of a game show where they give away cash to randomly picked listeners. And then the Democrats deride Trump for being a Reality TV personality. This is huckster TV aimed at the rubes. Next time somebody might give 10 free college education scholarships or 10 free BMWs.

But absent was any mention of the economy, any plan for dealing with millions of illegal migrants, a plan for botched abortions, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, China, North Korea or Brexit. That’s because in spite of what they allude to on the campaign circuit, they don’t have a plan-it’s just “we gotta beat Donald Trump and by the way, here’s your free stuff!”

Ask yourself if any other Republican than Donald Trump was president would poor old Joe be a candidate? When Castro pointed out his inconsistencies he was booed because many in the audience are convinced Biden can beat Trump. Really? Where has Joe been over the last week or for that matter today? While the others are vigorously beating the bushes for votes, he’s likely resting up. He’s the only candidate that doesn’t go into the Spin Room after the debate. Why is that?

Finally, why was there no mention of impeachment? Could it be because it’s a Jerry Nadler hoax? Could it be this and all the debates, promises of free stuff and taking points the Democrats have just really amounts to a Hoax Fest?

Roy Exum: My Worst Ash Wednesday

Today, and every Ash Wednesday to come in my life, will be the anniversary of the longest one hour I ever spent. And, what’s more, either this year or next will mark the 50th year I attended an early Ash Wednesday service that provided one of my life’s greatest lessons. Back in the day a gaggle of us swells from Ole Miss had descended on what was brazenly called “an adventure” in ... (click for more)

Roy Exum: Why I Am Mystified

I am absolutely bewildered by the surge of Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Party. Make no mistake, I describe myself as a conservative moderate, in this time when each of us must have a definition in order to be attacked by those unlike us, but I personally do not think Bernie and his outlandish beliefs would be good for the American people. I’ve read reams about this guy and, ... (click for more)
