The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s tennis team completed competition at the Austin Peay Fall Classic in Clarksville, Tenn., today. UTC posted a win in doubles and singles in Saturday’s play.
Sophomore Polina Goloputova scored a (6-4, 6-4) victory against UT Martin’s Mizuri Sakurai in the Flight 1 consolation semifinals. She lost in the finals of the backdraw to Austin Peay’s Danielle Morris (6-3, 6-0).
Goloputova and freshman Callie Billman teamed up for the doubles win. They defeated the SEMO tandem of Tarajova and Barriga (6-3) in the Flight 1 backdraw semis. They lost in the finals to Morris and Fabienne Schmidt of Austin Peay (6-4).
Up next for the Mocs is the Alumni Match on Saturday, Sept.
21. Former Mocs interested in competing should contact coach Chad Camper (chad-camper@utc.edu). The team will be back on the court on Sept. 27-28 at the Central Arkansas Fall Invite in Conway, Ark.
