Surpassing the career milestone of 1,000 digs and recording 75 digs this week alone, Rheagan Kean (JR/Chattanooga, Tenn.) was awarded Appalachian Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Defender of the Week for the third week in a row.
The Lions experienced two wins and one loss for the week with a 3-0 sweep over Brenau University (Ga.), a come-from-behind victory in a five-set match over Truett McConnell University (Ga.), and a 1-3 loss to Montreat College (N.C.). Kean registered 75 digs in 12 sets for an average of 6.25 digs per set, tallied 7 assists, and served up 1 ace.
Her weekly high came against Truett when she collected 37 digs in the five-set thriller. After 13 matches this season, Kean increased her dig count to 288 with a 6.0 digs per set average. She currently leads the conference in both total digs and digs per set. Bryan improved to 9-4 overall and 4-1 in AAC play.

Up next for Bryan volleyball is a visit to Union College in Barbourville, Ky. where the Lions and Bulldogs are set to tip-off at 6:30pm on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Union currently owns an overall record of 6-10 while remaining perfect in the conference at 4-0.
