James Frank Davidson, affectionally called Frank, was born on January 27, 1948, in West Point, Ga., to Charlie and Josephine Smith Davidson, Sr.
He transitioned from this life to eternity on September 17, 2019.
After graduating from Howard High School in 1966, he enlisted in the United States Army serving in Germany and received an honorable discharged. Returning to Chattanooga, he enrolled in Mckenzie College and completed the Army Program.
Following years of dedicated employment at Wheland Foundry and Dupont, he retired from ADM Company with 32 years of service.
Frank was a faithful and devoted member of Olivet Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the Ushers' Ministry. He served Bereaved Families by ushering at funerals and serving at the repasts.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie and Josephine Davidson, Sr., grandparents: William Henry and Hettie Smith, Charlie and Sally Davidson, several uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Frank was a kind, generous, loving, supporting, and caring daddy, son, granddaddy, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. His memory will be forever cherished by his children: Derrick Antonio Davidson, Sr. and Tanyell DeAnne (Juan) Nava both of Chattanooga, TN, brothers: Charlie (Deborah) Davidson, Jr. and George (Melinda) Davidson, sisters: Mary Ann (Thaddeus) Morton, Hettie Mae Auls (caregiver), and Dorothy Mae (Charles) Moore all of Chattanooga, TN, a loving and dedicated companion: Theresa Boston (caregiver), grandchildren: Derrick Davidson, Jr., Antonio Orr, Jr. and Adria Parks-Davidson all of Chattanooga, TN, and Antonio Davidson of Huntsville, AL, nephews and nieces: Sean (Christy) Davidson, Alvin "Roc" (Priscilla) Auls, and Shamari Auls all of Chattanooga, TN, Corey (Dominique) Davidson and Asia "Tami” (Kevin) Waites, Sr. both of Atlanta, GA, and Shaylan (Denisha) Davidson of Safety Harbor, FL, Marlena Moorer (Derrick's mama) and Nancy Neal (Tanyell's mama), special children: Coray (Marsha) Moorer, Charles Neal, Derrick Boston all of Chattanooga, TN, and NaQuisha Dunson of Clarksville, TN, God-sister and niece: Taina Walker and Tanea Nash, aunts: Lillie Mae Smith and Katie Smith, a host of devoted, caring, and loving cousins, special children, special friends, and families.
Public viewing will begin at 9 a.m. until noon on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at Olivet Baptist Church, followed immediately by a funeral service at noon. Interment will be in Chattanooga National.
