Jerrilyn Denise Simmons Evans was called to be with her Heavenly Father on September 8, 2019, at NHC Facility. 

She was born July 28, 1955. She was a graduate of Howard High School, Class of 1972. Denise was a beautiful person inside and out. She also had a very humbling spirit.  Denise’s passion was doing hair. She was the owner of Denise’s Hair Care for 30 + years.  She loved being around her family and especially her grandkids.  Denise attended Stephen Temple Cumberland Church. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Franklin; brother, Rev. Charles Woods; sister-in-law, Marie Woods; nieces, Joyce Johnson and Robin “Kitty” Pratt. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband, Ransom Evans; son, Randall Evans; granddaughters, Kalicia (Alex) Edmonds, Brandi Evans, Brittany Evans, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Betty Gordon, Linda Williams, Barbara Finley, Belinda Frazier, Charise Sexton; brothers, Calvin Simmons; Ronald (Rubie) Simmons; great grandkids; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held 9-11 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
