So Much For Impartiality

Here are Speaker Pelosi’s managers:

For over two years, Adam Schiff vowed he had solid evidence Trump illegally colluded with Russia to steal the  2016 election. Why should anyone trust anything he says? Next is Jerry Nadler, member of Congress for nearly 28 years. He vehemently argued against impeaching Bill Clinton in 1998. He said both political parties needed to support articles of impeachment of a president. In the case today the bi-partisan support was against sending them to the Senate. Then there is Rep. Hakeem Jeffries who called Trump the Grand Wizard of Pennsylvania Avenue, a studio gangster and a racial arsonist. Unlike Jeffries, Rep. Jason Crow, on the PBS News Hour, claimed his support was devoid of politics and he would only consider the evidence. Really? When one party impeaches a president it’s all political.

Another manager is Rep. Sylvia Garcia. She told the Houston Chronicle in March, 2016 Trump was the main reason she ran for Congress. She said Trump was “blaming all of our problems on immigrants.” It would be beneficial to know if Rep. Garcia thinks securing our borders is an abuse of power. Then there’s former Orlando Police Chief, now US Rep. Val Demings, a strong supporter of more gun laws, but was herself censured for not securing her service weapon which was stolen from her car in 2009. When questioned if her gun was ever found by authorities, her answer was, “my First Amendment right is different from yours.” (CBS News, May 17, 2017). What a confusing response from someone who is supposed to understand the constitution.

Finally we have Rep. Zoe Lofgren. Like Nadler, she is another Democrat career member of Congress. She’s been in Congress nearly 26 years. In March, 2017 Lofgren publicly called for Trump to get a mental exam (The Mercury News, August, 2017). She questioned whether he had “early stage dementia.” In fact, she was advocating invoking the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office barely two months after his inauguration. Like her fellow “lifer” in Congress, Jerry Nadler, Lofgren opposed impeaching her buddy Bill Clinton.

This is the team of zealots assigned to make the case for undoing the election of 2016. They have never hidden their disgust for Donald Trump, some almost from the day he was elected. So much for the ruse of impartiality. Yet almost daily Democrats stand in line on TV talking about Republican bias.
