Justin Michael Braddock, 44, of Chattanooga, passed away on October 24, 2020.

Justin was born in Denver on October 11, 1976, and spent his youth living in the Colorado mountain town of Evergreen where he enjoyed the outdoors and skied just about every weekend during the long ski season.  After his high school years, he left Colorado to explore and ended up in New York City where he worked in the sporting goods industry before moving back west to work with his father in performing waterway restoration for paper mills and large cities in the Pacific Northwest.  He then moved on to become a project manager for Synagro, Inc., a national firm performing similar work to what he had done with his father. This role led him to Tennessee where he met the love of his life, Kim, in 2005.  They married in October of 2007 and settled in the Chattanooga area in 2008.

With the support of Kim, Justin attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga where he graduated with high honors earning a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.  He was a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, a member of Pi Mu Epsilon and a member of Tau Beta Pi.  He returned to the University and completed an MBA with an emphasis in data analytics.  Justin began his career at TVA as an intern in 2010 and has worked as a SCADA engineer in the Transmission Department of TVA since 2012.

Always inquisitive and seeking new challenges, Justin loved to master puzzles (both crossword and jigsaw) and appeared on the popular TV show Jeopardy! in 2017.  He and Kim loved to travel and had spent 10 days in Paris in 2019.  They had planned to travel to China this past spring until Covid-19 derailed those plans.  They looked forward to traveling to Spain next year where Justin could once again challenge himself to use his mastery of the Spanish language.

Justin was gentle, kind and compassionate.  He loved everyone he met, with a particular soft spot for the underdogs and strays of both the human and dog variety.  He will be forever loved and remembered for his kindness and contagious laughter.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga or the animal shelter of your choice.

Justin is survived by his loving and adored bride, Kimberly Scalley Braddock; parents, Robert and Carolyn Braddock of Ojai, CA; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, at the Waterhouse Pavilion at Miller Plaza.  The family respectfully requests that all attendees wear masks and remain socially distant at all times.
