Martha (Martie) White Biller
Martha (Martie) White Biller

Martha (Martie) White Biller was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 16, 1948 to Robert and Jean White. She attended Thornton Township high school in Harvey Illinois. Subsequently, she attended Cedarville College and received a Bachelor of Science and education degree from Indiana University, as well as a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.

In her early career, Martie taught kindergarten and special education reading. She became a licensed senior psychological examiner and provided counseling services for children adults and families and had a specialty in treating abused and neglected children and survivors of domestic violence. She was a supervisor of interns instructing them in all areas of psychological practice in efforts to help them start careers that followed in the counseling and mental health professions. Martie was a passionate advocate for children and positive mental health for all.

Above all, Martie was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. She loved her church family at First Baptist Church in Cleveland. Throughout her life her faith never wavered. She never tired of speaking of Jesus and sharing God‘s word. Even in her last hours while fighting her battle with cancer, she continued to encourage everyone around her through her unwavering faith in Jesus. She knew with certainty that she had a place in eternal glory at the seat of the throne of God and shared her strength of assurance with everyone around her.

On Wednesday, Nov. 18, while she was moving ever closer towards her home-going, the YouVersion Bible App shared John 11:25-26 as the “Bible Verse of The Day“. Jesus told her “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?” God chose to call her by her name on the very day he was preparing to take her home. Blessed assurance Jesus is mine.

On Thursday, Nov. 19, at 3:30 p.m., God welcomed Martha to her eternal home in heaven.

Martie was preceded in death by her mother, Jean; father, Robert; brother, Bob; father-in-law, Owen; mother-in-law, Mildred; and brother-in-law, Douglas.

She leaves behind an adoring husband of 52 years, Tom; children, Benjamin with his wife Michelle, and grandchildren Emily and Owen; daughter, Susannah and her husband Austin awaiting the joyful birth of her son; sister, Wendy White-Aftab and husband Jay and daughter Alyssa; sister-in-law, Mary White; nieces Rachel Zimmerman and Elizabeth Milner; sister-in-law, Pam Biller; and nieces, Jennifer Hammond and Rachel Clemons and Michelle Cuzzort.
