Randall Freer, 82, passed from this life to his heavenly home on December 14, 2020. 

Born on August 10, 1938, in Paterson, New Jersey, he moved to the Chattanooga area in 1968.  Randy was an active member of the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum for almost 50 years, volunteering in many capacities having most recently served as Director Emeritus.  He was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church and had previously been a deacon at South Seminole Baptist Church.  Randy worked for Tubelite Company of Memphis as a traveling salesman for over 20 years, dealing in screen printing and advertising supplies.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Freer; parents, Randall and Marie Freer; sister, Jane Schoch; and grandson, Peyton Freer. 

Survivors include his sister, Lorelle Pepper, sons, Steve (Cindy) Freer and Kenny (Lisa) Freer; stepson, Brandon Cook; grandchildren Seth (Brittany) Freer, Brooke Case, Shannon Case and Matthew Freer; great-grandsons Maddox Freer and Parker Case; a number of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at Hickory Valley Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 19, at noon, with Dr. David Kemp officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, 4119 Cromwell Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road, East Ridge, Tn.
