Caleb Baggett
James Caleb “Hicks” Baggett , 37, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 20, 2020.
He was born on October 30, 1983, and was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga.
Caleb was of the Baptist faith. When he was younger, he participated in the Special Olympics.
Caleb will be remembered for his outgoing personality, never meeting a stranger (‘Hey’ was his favorite word along with an outstretched hand) and his ability to always let you know what he wanted. He loved sharing hugs and kisses and the caregivers at Caleb’s group home residence have told us that his was the heart of the house.
His grandfather, Rev. James C. Maness and several other grandparents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his loving parents, Nadine and David Hicks of Chattanooga, TN; grandmother, Lura Maness of Chattanooga, TN; special uncle and aunt, Curtis & Susan Maness of Ferris, TX; stepsister, Ashley Hicks of Red Bank, TN; stepbrother, David Hicks, Jr. of Jasper, TN; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Dec. 30, from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, Dec. 31, from 12-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 31, at 1 p.m. in the East Brainerd Chapel with Dr. Steven Granger officiating. Interment will follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park.
The service will be livestreamed on Chattanooga Funeral Home, East Brainerd Chapel’s Facebook Page.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all guidelines of social distancing must be followed. Face coverings are required for anyone attending visitation and services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, atwww.hospiceofchattanooga.org; or the Orange Grove Center atwww.orangegrovecenter.org.
