BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has named Becky Owen as director of pharmacy operations.

In this role, Ms. Owen will collaborate with leaders across the company to ensure operational functions meet the needs of its members, employer customers and providers. She will lead the teams that oversee the company’s pharmacy operations and vendor contracts, including those for its pharmacy benefit management services. Ms. Owen will also guide oversight and monitoring activities, making certain that pharmacy programs meet federal and state regulatory requirements and that vendors comply with accreditation standards.

“Becky’s breadth of knowledge and years of experience make her well-equipped to lead our pharmacy teams as they serve our members,” said Dr. Natalie Tate, vice president of pharmacy management for BlueCross. “We’re pleased to have someone with her track record of success in this role.”

Ms. Owen has been with BlueCross for 25 years. In that time, she has held a variety of roles in finance, compliance and operations. Most recently, Ms. Owen was manager of vendor and project management for government programs. While in that position, she developed a contract and vendor management program for government products that substantially reduced operating costs.

Ms. Owen earned a Bachelor of Science in political science with an emphasis in public administration from UTC. She has served on the board of the Chattanooga Girls Choir since 2017.
