Winnie Rachel Barnett, age 83, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday, May 8, 2020 at home surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born Feb. 9, 1937 in Liberty Hill, Texas, the daughter of the late Lonnie Lewis and Addie Adeline Wells Martin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Shelby Barnett; sons, Rodney Dewayne Barnett and Timmy Lewis Barnett; grandson, Jamie Paul Barnett; sisters, Verda Mae Davis, Bonnie Phillips, Doris Faulknor and Lou Welch; brother, B.C. Faulknor; and son-in-law, Billy Bagley.

She was a member of the Church of God of the Union Assembly.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Winston and Thresa Barnett of Albertville, Al.; daughters and son-in-law, Beverly Bagley of Dalton, Ga., Carolyn Lynese and Ira Maddron of Chatsworth, Ga.; brothers, Dale Martin of Dalton, Ga., Doyle Faulknor of Dalton, Ga., Lenoy Faulknor of New Boston, Tx., Leroy Faulknor of Dekalb, Tx., Henry Faulknor of Texarkanas, Tx., Royce Faulknor of Malta, Tx.; sister, Lola Eaton of Powder Springs, Ga.; special nephew, Rocky and Wisyieh Faulknor of Resaca, Ga.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The service to celebrate the life of Winnie Rachel Barnett will be held Monday, May 11, at 2 p.m. from Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens at the Celebration Mausoleum Pavilion with Reverend Pratt Hughes and Reverend Stoney Kiser officiating. She will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery with Matt Maddron, Coy Maddron, Rocky Faulknor, Chad Grant, Ladane Eaton, Sean Elrod and Timmy Faulknor serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 11, at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens at the Celebration Mausoleum Pavilion from 12-2 p.m.
