Clyde Ballard

Clyde Wayne Ballard, 62, of LaFayette went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, August 13, 2020.

Wayne was gifted with something far greater than any material thing a person could ask for; he had the gift of integrity and a special love for the Lord, in which he showed through his love, care and humble heart. He enjoyed being a devoted husband, father, paw-paw, brother, uncle, friend and a devoted member of Rock Spring Baptist Church.  Wayne never met a stranger and he always placed others before himself. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He had a passion for classic cars and was an enthusiast of vintage Pontiacs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Ada Jackson Ballard; brothers, Bobby Ballard, Ernest Ballard and Melvin Ballard.

Survived by loving wife of 38 years, Perri Russell Ballard; children, Damon (Cristy) Ballard, Leslie (Patrick) Cooper, Stephanie (Joe) Massingill and Jason (Stefani) Ballard; grandchildren, Logan Massingill, Andrew Cooper, Gage Massingill, Kayli Ballard and Grace Cooper; sisters, Hazel Dover, Patsy Collins, Genelle (Steve) Harris, and Darlene (Steve) Dixon; brother, Winfred (JoAnn) Ballard; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, at Rock Spring Baptist Church with Pastor’s Patrick Cooper and Shane Harris officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The service will also be live-streamed from Rock Spring Baptist Church Facebook page.

Interment will follow in the McIntyre Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Alan Ballard, Andrew Cooper, Justin Dixon, Stevie Harris, Gage Massingill and Logan Massingill.
