Roger Schaefer
Roger Dan Schaefer, 75, of Chattanooga, died on August 18, 2020.
Roger was born on Feb. 6, 1945, in Bristol, Va., and worked as a sheet metal foreman for 25 years. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army and loved to spend time with his family, going to the beach, and loved working on cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Sue Schaefer, sister, Brenda Easley, parents, Deadrick and Geraldine (Harless) Schaefer.
He is survived by daughters, Sheri Bats of Spokane Valley, Washington, Hope Schaefer of Chattanooga, and Danielle Schaefer of Chattanooga, brother, Larry Schaefer of Wartburg, Tn., sister, Sharon Byrd of Chattanooga, grandchildren, Joshua Watkins, Mitchell Van Buren, Hannah Van Buren, Dylan and Lindan Price, and great-grandchildren, Zayne Billings and Willow Watkins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Aug. 23, from 5-8 p.m. at Lane Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held in the Coulter Chapel of Lane Funeral Home at 12 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, with Brother Donald Ferguson officiating and interment to follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
