Nomie Dean Loveless Smith departed this life in the early hours of September 28, 2020, at her home in Georgetown, Tenneessee, at the age of 87.

She was born on Nov. 21, 1932, to Susie and Luther Loveless the eighth of nine children. She married the love of her life Alden David Smith. She was a very loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and a good friend to anyone in need. During her life she worked as a waitress, worked in cotton mills, worked at the Army Ammunition Plant and was the secretary and bookkeeper for her husband at Chattanooga Masonry in Chattanooga.  She was a member of Birchwood Baptist Church and will always be remembered for the loving care that she gave to so many people including her mother, sister, sister-in-law, nephew and numerous neighbors.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Weeks (Orvel) Scottsboro, Al., and Judy Wood, Soddy; two sons, Ken (Louise), Soddy, and Mattson (Rosangela) of Rossville; four grandsons, David Weeks, Chris Weeks, Justin Smith and Aaron Smith; eight great-grandchildren; Brother, Joe Loveless of Ringgold.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, David Smith; parents, Susie and Luther Loveless; sisters, Alpha Wilson, Irene Dunn and Joy Kesley; brothers, Hubert, William, L J, and Ernest Loveless.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, at the Valley View Chapel with the Reverend Keith Watson and the Reverend Ray Woodward Officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
