St. Francis Of Assisi Episcopal Church Has Blessing Of Animals Sunday

  • Wednesday, September 30, 2020

The traditional Blessing of Animals at St. Francis of Assisi is adapting the annual event to a drive thru event this year. Pet owners can drive up the church driveway where pets will be blessed while remaining in their vehicles.

The tradition of each pet receiving a free St. Francis medal continues along with the pets receiving a free pet goody bag.

On the first Sunday in October each year you will typically find more than 100 four-leg animals attending service on the campus of an Episcopal Church in Ooltewah. It is set for Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church Campus, 7555 Ooltewah-Georgetown Road.

For more information call 238-7708 or visit www.sfaec.org.

The St. Francis Day events will include:

Drive thru blessings
Photos taken of the individual blessings
Free goody bags for the pets and their owner
Noah’s Little Ark & Petting Zoo will be on hand for drive by visits and will be accepting contributions to help feed the animals who have had all of their events this year cancelled due to the pandemic
