Edward J. Reese, age 78, of Trenton, died Saturday January 9, 2021.
He was born August 2, 1942 and raised in the New Salem Community on Lookout Mountain. He later served his country and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and gave back to his fellow veterans serving as prior post commander of American Legion Post 106. Edd was founder and CEO of Mountain Heritage Inc., founded in 1989, a commercial and industrial specialty construction company until his retirement and later formed a residential property management Cherokee Village Development Co. LLC in 2001. He was an avid fisherman and was happiest when he was out on the water in his pontoon boat catching crappie.
He was proceeded in death by parents, Ruth May Logan Reese and Alton Edward Reese; daughter, Kristin Reese; son, Eric Reese; and granddaughter, Kaitlin Smith.
Surviving include his wife of 59 years, Carolyn “Carol” Reese; son, Todd (Kelli) Reese; daughter, Jamey Williams; grandchildren, Joey and Justin Reese, Andrea (Rick) Soto, Madison (Matt) Cox, Grace Williams; and great-grandchildren, Alec Soto and Gunner Cox

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13 in the chapel, with Pastor Randy Tinker officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Family will receive friends from noon-2 p.m. Wednesday at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory, Trenton.
