Roger Sellars and Double Down Motorsports of Maryville, Tn. did just that late last year when they hired Indiana's Hudson O'Neil, son of legendary racer (The Real Deal) Don O'Neil, to pilot the #71 "Lazy Days RV, O'Neil's Salvage & Recycling" sponsored XR1 Rocket racecar for 2021. Monday night "The Lil' Deal" delivered big on night #3 of the Lucas Oil Winter Nationals at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa by repelling a pair of Brandons that just happened to be two of the hottest racers of 2020.

Early leader Devin Moran, another second generation racer, was fourth behind Sheppard and Overton respectfully, with Floridan Earl Pearson, Jr. rounding out the top five. O'Neil remarked to the Lucas Oil Racing and MavTV cameras, "We got ourselves a hot rod", referencing Roddy Harris.

Officially, 76 Super Late Model race teams entered the $5,000 to-win event Monday and currently Devin Moran leads the points standings, earning his race team the honor of wearing the neon orange spoiler on the back of his #9 mount beginning Tuesday.

The second night for the LODLMs is scheduled for Tuesday at EBRP. The broadcast can be seen live on MavTV and to subscribers of Lucas Oil Racing TV and MavTV Plus, beginning at 7 p.m.
