Night #2 of the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model series Winternationals was a barn burner of a race at Tampa's East Bay Raceway Park, as Texan Tyler Erb (#1) denied Georgian Brandon Overton, taking the lead with less than a handful of laps remaining from Overton, with Brandon Shepard following.
Ninth starting Erb (aka. T.Erb-O) rocketed through the pack utilizing the very bottom of the flat 1/3 mile clay oval. Sheppard took a hard hit on the last lap in third, only to rear a caution, just as the checkered flag was raised. Erb restarted ahead of Overton with a one lap dash for his third win on the young 2021 season.
Behind Overton was Brian Shirley of Illinois, Josh Richards of Virginia and Kyle Bronson of nearby Brandon, Fa.
The LODLM series ups its game Wednesday night at EBRP with its first 40 lap feature of the season.
Unofficially Devin Moran of Ohio still leads the LODLM series points.
The EBRP week wraps up Saturday with $15,000 to-win finale live in front of the MavTV cameras and to internet subscribers to MavTV Plus app online.
