Cucksee, Roy Newton (Dalton)

Roy Newton Cucksee, age 73, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Etowah Landing Care and rehabilitation Center in Rome, Ga.

Roy was born Sept. 27, 1948 in Whitfield County, Ga., a son of the late Jesse Washington and Thelma Elizabeth Ruth Malone Cucksee.  He was also preceded in death by a son, LeRoy Neal Cucksee, and a brother, William L Cucksee. 

Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He earned an Associate’s Degree in Business from Dalton State College.  He was a member of the American Legion. 

Roy was a jokester and loved to make people laugh. 

He is survived by his son, Jason Cucksee of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Dawson Cucksee, Carlee Cucksee, Hattie Jean Cucksee and Matthew Cucksee; brother, Farrell and Donna Cucksee of Dalton, GA; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Roy Newton Cucksee will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ricky Spence officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the Dalton American Legion Post #112.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, until the service hour.
