Benjamin Allen "Ben" Mitchell, 36, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 24, 2021.

Ben was born November 18, 1984, in Chattanooga. He was baptized at Red Bank Baptist Church where he was a member.  He graduated from Soddy Daisy High School in the class of 2003, where he was also a member of the Trojan baseball team and a sub on the golf team.  Ben received his Civil Engineering degree from Tennessee Tech University and was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He was employed by Barge Design Solutions in Nashville, working with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).

Ben's kind nature extended to anyone he met and his smile would melt your heart. He loved his work with Barge and loved the diversity of the people he worked with at TDOT. He loved to travel and enjoyed different cultures and their food. He recently skydived in Aruba and took a flying lesson in Nashville.  He loved family and friends and especially his fiancée, Emma Bonnet, together for seven years, and their dog "Hootie" and cats "Walden" and "Ellie".  We are thankful for Emma's parents, Bernard and Kathy Bonnet, as they were his second parents away from home and they loved him dearly.

Ben was preceded in death by his grandparents Bennie, Sr. and Ruby Ferguson Kinsey, and Jack and Juanette Burger Mitchell and uncle, Terry Wade Mitchell and aunt Aleta Burns Kinsey.

Survivors include parents, Raymond "Ray" and Deborah "Debbie" Kinsey Mitchell, Soddy-Daisy; sister, Christina Mitchell, East Ridge, TN; fiancée, Emma Bonnet, her parents Bernard and Kathy Bonnet, Nashville, TN.; Uncle's Bennie Kinsey Jr., Hixson, TN and Tim Kinsey, Jacksonville, Fl.; Great-Aunt's Virginia (Lynn) Reedy, Soddy-Daisy, TN, Pat Ferguson, St. Augustine, FL.,  Patsy Ferguson, East Ridge, TN; Great Uncle, Bobbie Kinsey (Joan); cousins Mark Kinsey (Tracie), Ringgold, GA.,  Paul Kinsey (Jessie), Pellam, TN,  and Daniel Kinsey, Tampa, FL.
