The Chattanooga Mocs softball team exploded for a combined 23 runs and 24 hits in a two-game sweep, defeating Indiana State 16-11 and Kennesaw State 7-5, during Saturday action at Jim Frost Stadium as part of the Chattanooga Challenge.
Chattanooga evens its 2021 record to 2-2 following the doubleheader sweep. Indiana State dropped to 1-3 overall while Kennesaw moved to 1-5.
The Mocs close out the Chattanooga Challenge tomorrow with a single game rematch against Kennesaw State at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Chattanooga scored nine runs in the sixth inning the most in an inning since a school-record 13 in win over Kennesaw on February 10, 2019. Gracey Kruse and Courtney Ball both homered for UTC and Ball finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs.
In game two, Freshman Kendall Forysthe recorded her first career RBI with a two-run single in the first. Courtney Ball went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Ball is batting 7-for-11 (.636) with two doubles, homerun and five RBI this season.
