Cleveland State Women’s Basketball Falls To Walters State 79-74

The Cleveland State Women’s Basketball team suffered a loss in Morristown, Tn. on Saturday, falling victim to the Walters State Lady Senators 79-74 in a game that featured 13 lead changes.

Four of the five Lady Cougar starters were able to post double-digit point totals. Emma Harig led all scorers with 19 points paired with nine rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Asjah Harrell scored 16 while dishing out two assists and recording a rebound while Michaela Bennefield scored 14 points and grabbed a game-high 16 boards. Kyeshia Dalton posted 13 points while also grabbing two rebounds and dishing out an assist. Off of the bench, Nicky Jones scored nine points and posted a game-best six assists.

Cleveland State will play again on Wednesday as they travel to Tullahoma, Tn. for a matchup with Motlow State. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
