The United Championship Racing Alliance presented by Red Line Synthetic Oil will kick back into action this Saturday night at the Tazewell Speedway in East Tennessee, north of Knoxville, with Round #2 of the $15,000 championship season.

Boasting a $9,500 purse for the field of 24 starters of the 604/Crate Late Model series, Tazewell's ultra high banked 1/3 mile dirt track is expected to see some great racing action. The track's season opener showcases new clay on the surface as put forth by owner Gary Hall and his crew.

Alabama's Sam Seawright (#16) leads the early UCRA points standings after winning his home track's (Fort Payne Motor Speedway) winter special event back in February. Knoxville's Jerry Green is second to Seawright, with 2019 champion Jesse Lowe of Crossville third. UCRA mainstay Kenny Kizzar of Soddy Daisy is fourth with Ringgold's Tyler Nichols fifth in the standings.

Other racers possibly in the hunt for the $5,000 top prize at the end of the season include: "The Hurricane" Kasey Hall and Jake Traylor, both of Alabama, and Georgia's Cody Overton.

As for the $1,000 bonus Rookie of the Year contenders, Jesse Hughes, Jeremy Holtzclaw, whom nearly won the 2020 Bama Brawl, Hayden Ownbey, Clay Joseph, Shane Griffith, Brian Womack, Colton Jackson and Chase Oliver are all in the running.

Tazewell's home track racers have been highly successful beginning with Knoxville's Jason Trammell. His grandfather Charles is the namesake for the event Saturday and Jason has won the race multiple times. Josh Collins of Powell won a UCRA Tazewell race in 2020 and others, such as Aaron Guinn, John Llewellyn and Brian Smith, are top Tazewell contenders.

Gates open at 4 p.m. with drivers meeting at 6 p.m. Hot laps start at 7 p.m.

The UCRA will qualify and compete in heats before the night's 40 lap main event.
