The Migrant Children Should Be Welcomed With Open Arms - And Response

  • Sunday, April 11, 2021
My greatest concern for the migrant children is they don't be mistreated or abused. Being separated from their families must be traumatic enough. They don't deserve the added trauma of being mistreated and abused. They should be welcomed with open arms.

Don't worry about our own precious children. They'll get to be exposed to another language, another culture. Children are flexible and adaptable under the right circumstances.
They flourish and bloom.

I'm not a Bible or church person. However, in Matthew doesn't scripture say, "I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me.”

President Biden is not to blame for any current issues at the border. Those issues are cyclical and have been around for decades. They are issues that often arise from outside agitators venturing into countries for the sole purpose of destabilizing them and their economies in preparation to create uprisings against their governments or plotting out future wars "old men dream up for the young to die in."

I say WELCOME! to those children. Just please treat them well and be kind to them. That's my only and greatest concern and should be the same for anyone with a moral conscious, a sense of compassion and righteousness.

Brenda,

Do you have blinders on?  You state, “My greatest concern for the migrant children is they don't be mistreated or abused."  Have you seen the news the lately and how these children are getting across the border?  This one article alone should stop you from promoting illegal border crossings for the welfare of the children and not vice versa.

“In the video, smugglers scale a 14-foot border fence and drop two young girls, aged 3 and 5, on the ground, throwing their belongings afterwards and then running away. It was night in the New Mexico desert and these children were abandoned 'miles from the nearest residence,'” according to El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria Chavez.

"I'm appalled by the way these smugglers viciously dropped innocent children from a 14-foot border barrier last night. If not for the vigilance of our agents using mobile technology, these two tender-aged siblings would have been exposed to the harsh elements of desert environment for hours," Chavez said. "We are currently working with our law enforcement partners in Mexico and attempting to identify these ruthless human smugglers so as to hold them accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”

In a statement, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the smugglers' treatment of children is "criminal and morally reprehensible."

“The inhumane way smugglers abuse children while profiting is criminal and morally reprehensible. Just this month, a young girl died by drowning, a six-month-old was thrown into the river, and two young children were dropped from a wall and left in the desert alone," he said. "There can be no doubt that children are exceptionally vulnerable when placed in the hands of smugglers. There is grave risk they will be exploited and harmed.  I applaud our heroic Border Patrol agents who have saved lives this week and every week, while putting their own lives at risk for the greater good of the country.”

I guess my greatest concern is that people such as yourself are defending the Biden administration for the handling of the border crisis and that should be a concern for anyone with a moral conscious, a sense of compassion and righteousness.
