Hixson's Green, Signal's Davis Honored In 6-AA

All-District Team Named For Local Baseball Players

The post-season awards have been presented for District 6-AA baseball with Hixson's Colton Green honored as the Coach of the Year and Signal Mountain;s Hunter Davis at the Player of the Year.

Green's Wildcats won the regular-season championship by run differential over Signal Mountain while Davis was unbeaten in six decisions, including three no-hitters.  He also had 56 strikeouts in just 26 innings pitched.

Hixson had four all-district picks, including Manny Velazquez, Brad Dossett, Jacob Tobias and Kane Johnson while Signal Mountain's trio included Carter Giles, Braden Wolfard and Davis.

Central's Solomon Williams, Christian Montgomery and Dylan Brown were also honored.  The remaining picks included Jaxson Keller and Ethan Terry from Red Bank, Amariion McClain from Tyner, Chris Vines from Howard, Jared Runion from East Ridge and Ethan Brown from Brainerd.

National Cemetery Director Says 6 Potential Sites Picked For Expansion Of Cemetery; Veteran Services To Move Back To Cemetery

Chattanooga VA National Cemetery Director Deborah Kendrick said the VA has identified six possible sites for cemetery expansion in Chattanooga. She said those locations have not been made public.
