SSOs Are Not Chevrolets

  • Thursday, May 13, 2021

In regards to the discussion about SROs and SSOs. Shame on Commissioner Fairbanks. Have you even visited a school with an SSO? Apparently you haven't even taken the time to learn about the "Chevrolets" as you put it.

To disparage the lifelong careers of some of the SSOs was disappointing. To know that your comments as leaders of a community can cause fear amongst the parents and guardians of children is shameful when it's an uninformed opinion.

The experience and education that most of the SSOs bring with them is invaluable.

You and everyone will likely find that these SSOs have exactly the expertise and skills along with individual credentials. I, for one, would be extremely happy to have anyone of these gentleman if I still had children in school. Not to take away from any experienced SRO.
